have u seen the legal immigration/ foriegn workers issue address by Bush today. althou he spoke just 1-2 sentences. stating that ' legal immigration system needs to be fixed, so that foriegn workers are in no harm

Photoshop might have a filter that could do this, although I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'd go with the Flash version myself, it's quick, easy and you can cut and paste the result into another package without any hassle.

ATA conf is a popular event among South Indian (Telugu) immigrants - this year their meeting is in NJ. During this even they seems to have an immigration forum with Attorney Murthy - details are below. If enough IV members are attending - it will be a good idea to have an informal meeting among ourselves. I am also trying to contact organizers to see if they will be OK to announce about IV and our activities - some of us can volunteer to talk to anyone interested to talk more or involve in IV's acitivities.

It was a mistake by the guy who stamped I-94 (at CBP).
Her H-4 must be expire on your expiration date.
You need to go to nearest CBP office to get it corrected.
She need deferred inspection to get it straight. USCIS will not do it.
OR Do nothing about it and file H-4 extension along with your H1B extension.
If you do not extend her with your petition, even if she have valid I-94, she may end up in trouble later.

My wife is on H4 visa (expiring in 3-20-2013 since she got 5 yr multiple visa). Recently she visited Kuwait and on her re-entry she was given entry (on her I94) up to 3-15-2013 (up to 5 days prior to her visa expiration). Will she also need extension in this case along with my extension or can she stay in US till 2013 with out extension Thanks.

Hi! I'm H1B holder and my company is willing to sponsor the green card. I'm coming from Eastern Europe (Moldova) and in US am working as software developer, I guess it's EB-3, right? I graduated in Romania Bachelor Degree in Mathematics & Computer Science (4 years) and Master Degree in Computer Science & Engineering (2 years). My work experience is more than 7 years. On 28 November 2008, "the United States" as defined for purposes of the Immigration & Nationality Act (INA) just got bigger, with the addition of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Although there are probably wrinkles I have not yet read in the treaty, this essentially puts the CNMI on the same footing as Puerto Rico. Here's the cute part:
Because the CNMI will become part of the "United States" as defined by �101(a)(38) of the INA, "residence or presence in the CNMI before 28 November 2009 shall NOT be considered residence or physical presence within the USA for INA purposes. Thus, on 29 November 2009, all persons physically present in the CNMI are considered "to be present in the United States without inspection, by operation of law."
Will these PWIs (present without inspection) be eligible to adjust status? Unclear? Are they working "abroad" for purposes of L visas? Yes, as it turns out. One thing is clear: Legal Permanent Residents (so-called "green" card holders) who wish to base a naturalization application based on physical presence in the CNMI will NOT be able to do so for pre-29 November 2009 periods of time. My 485 got approved 2 months back. There was an RFE for my wife and by the time I answered it, the visa numbers were over. Now I am planning to change my job. I know its good to wait for at least 6 months before you switch over, but I don't have that option. Can there be any issues with my wife's application?
The title is misleading - can be interpreted as "You are leaving your job and wife because you got an RFE and you want to know if there is any problem?"

Whn I entered US after visiting home country Nov 06, they gave me an I 94 till Dec 06 which was the end term of my first H1 B term.
i got the approval for xtension. In approval notice at the bottom, i see a new I 94 till 2009.
so now i got 2 I-94's now.
cud any body tell which is the real one.
next time whn i go out of this country, which i-94 i shud i hand it over to the officials??

If the form specifically asks for wage/week then I believe the correct response should be in that unit. I think your lawyer is wrong here to put your annual income there. But what do I know.....I am not an attorney.
This item deals with "Wage per week " in this field after i checked out my application lawyer gave the whole years income instead of weeks income. as i enquired he said even though "/year" is ideal to mention immigration officers know that this amount is same as that of Labor and thats not an issue . any comments please?

Hi,
My wife came to US on H4 and changed to F1 status thru COS. She is doing Masters 2nd semester and went for F1 visa stamping this week in India. She got 221(g) pink slip asking explain her projects, plans afer study etc. Visa officier withheld her passport and I20.
BTW the way I am on H1B and provided all the financial support documents.
I searched the online didnt any F1 getting 221(g) pink.
1)If anyone else got this for F1 please share your experiences and any tips.
2)How long it takes after repsonding to thier queries
3)what are the chances getting visa after getting 221(g) pink
4) Do you suggest getting any professional in drafting the reponse to te queries.. if so do you know any one in Hyderabad, India

As the house will go into a recess after around a month, is anyone seeing a possibility for a congressional action regarding the three pending immigration bills in the house? �A realistic possibility?
As per the calendar, we have time till August 4 and between September 7 & September 26, to get something done in Congress. It might be really difficult to get something done in September as that short time may be used by the congress for many high priority items.

August 4 to September 7: House August Recess
August 9 to September 7: Senate August Recess
September 26: House Target Adjournment Date
I am wondering, what else I could do to push our bills to fruition.

I would anticipate EAD to be processed in max of 3 months and AP in 2 months.
Would also add a buffer of 2 weeks (just in case).
